Gwangju Police Agency Conducts Year-End and New Year Crowd Congestion Crisis Response Drill
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency conducted a joint crisis response drill with related agencies on the afternoon of the 21st at around 2 PM in front of Minju's Bell Pavilion in Dong-gu, Gwangju, simulating a crowd congestion accident during the year-end and New Year holidays.
The drill was carried out to prepare for the expected crowd gatherings at various events during the year-end and New Year period and to check the readiness of personnel such as the Multipurpose Mobile Unit who can be immediately mobilized.
The exercise assumed a sudden crowd congestion accident during the bell-ringing event and aimed for perfect situation management. About 90 personnel from related agencies participated, including the Metropolitan Police Agency's 112 emergency call center, anti-terrorism unit, mobile unit, multipurpose mobile unit, police station initial response teams, community police, and 119 rescue teams.
