About 30 correspondents stationed in Seoul from Bloomberg (USA), The Economist (UK), People's Daily (China), Asahi Shimbun (Japan), and others attended the meeting. Ryu Jin, chairman of the Korea Economic Association, gave a presentation on the topic of 'The Role of the Korea Economic Association Amid Rapidly Changing International Situations.'
Chairman Ryu pointed to protectionism as the most notable change in the international situation, explaining, "Given the high external dependency of the Korean economy, a deterioration in trade conditions could have a negative impact on the overall economy." As countermeasures, he proposed improving laws and systems to align with global standards and diversifying supply chain risks.
