Starting with Minister of Environment Han Hwa-jin, public institutions, companies, and organizations have participated in the campaign. Participants take photos or videos performing actions to reduce single-use products to zero and upload them on social networking services (SNS), then nominate the next participants.
As part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions, SK ecoplant has been reducing single-use product usage within the company and encouraging employees to use tumblers. Since 2020, the company has stopped using disposable products such as paper cups and straws in its in-house cafes and has provided shared tumblers. Since last November, a deposit system for reusable cups has also been introduced in the company cafes. This system operates by allowing customers to order drinks in reusable cups and receive their deposit back upon returning the cup.
President Park said, "I hope this campaign spreads awareness that small daily habits of reducing single-use products and using reusable products are important," adding, "SK ecoplant will continue its efforts to practice carbon neutrality through various ESG management activities."
