‘Seodaemun Residents and Ewha Womans University New Year Concert’ to be Held on the 2nd of Next Month
Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) will hold the "2024 Ewha Womans University New Year's Concert with Seodaemun Residents" at 2 p.m. on January 2nd next year at the Ewha Womans University Auditorium. Hosted by Ewha Womans University and sponsored by Seodaemun-gu, this event will feature a diverse repertoire including classical music and Korean traditional music. The performance will last 70 minutes.
On the day, Keimyung Seon and Professor Kim Jeong-eun (piano major) from Ewha Womans University College of Music will perform Schubert's "Military March," and the Seodaemun-gu Children's Choir will sing "Riding a Bicycle." The Ewha Gayageum Ensemble "WITH" will perform Disney movie theme songs, the Ewha Philharmonic Orchestra will play Tchaikovsky's "Sleeping Beauty," and the Ewha College of Music Choir will perform Hubert Parry's "Jerusalem," among others.
Founded in 2013, the Ewha Philharmonic Orchestra is the first permanent orchestra in a Korean university composed of both graduates and current students, actively engaging in professional performances. Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "I hope this New Year's concert with the university will be a time that adds hope and happiness, and we will continue to promote diverse high-quality cultural and artistic programs for residents in the new year."
