Action Square Successfully Concludes 'Steam Festival 2023'... Confirms Global Hit Potential
Action Square announced on the 21st that it has successfully concluded the three-week-long ‘Action Square Steam Fest 2023’ held since last month.
During this event, playtests were conducted for three new titles: Dungeon Stalkers, Kingdom: Blood of the Royal, and Project GGG (Gun, Gang, Gold). To commemorate this, unique events were held for each game, attracting a total of over 80,000 users who showed enthusiastic responses.
Dungeon Stalkers, a game combining the recently spotlighted dungeon crawler and battle royale genres, registered about 30,000 users despite being only the first test. The average playtime was 133 minutes, with approximately 1,000 users playing for more than 10 hours. Japan, where there was no particular marketing, accounted for 33% of the players, followed by the United States, Korea, Taiwan, and China.
Kingdom: Blood of the Royal, which was conducted in the second week, was played by about 42,000 users across PC and mobile platforms. The average playtime on PC was 92 minutes, with over 2,000 users playing for more than 200 minutes. On mobile, it received a 4.7 rating on Google Play in Korea, earning positive reviews on both PC and mobile.
About 6,000 users registered for the Project GGG test, held as an alpha test in the third week. The overall average playtime exceeded 100 minutes, with over 90% of users from overseas. Notably, the game’s multiplayer cooperative gameplay combined with the globally popular extraction genre confirmed its potential for global success.
Kim Yeon-jun, CEO of Action Square, said, “As these are new titles introduced to users for the first time this year, we focused on highlighting differentiated elements within the works and the development progress. We will continue to develop so that users worldwide, not just in Korea, can play across multiple countries.”
