Gyeonggi-do Opens 'Digital Transformation Hub' for SME Support in Ansan on the 20th
The ‘Digital Transformation Hub (DX-HUB)’ to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in the Gyeonggi region opened on the 20th within Gyeonggi Technopark.
The Digital Transformation Hub covers a total floor area of 16,529㎡, with 11 floors above ground and 4 floors underground. A total budget of 30 billion KRW, including 10 billion KRW from the provincial government, was invested.
It will actively support the development and dissemination of Gyeonggi Province-type digital transformation (DX) solutions by establishing a supplier company residence and research and development (R&D) support, a demo smart factory (testbed) for core smart manufacturing technologies, and the Gyeonggi Manufacturing Data Center.
In particular, in response to the increasing adoption of smart factories, the hub includes spaces for building a manufacturing innovation ecosystem for companies, such as a learning center for practical professional training, a startup support room, and a co-working place.
Gyeonggi Province expects the Digital Transformation Hub to continuously develop Gyeonggi-type smart factory models, establish a comprehensive support system for smart manufacturing innovation, and become a core institution for manufacturing innovation through the concentration of research facilities.
Park Seung-sam, Director of the Gyeonggi Province Economic Investment Office, said, "Today’s opening ceremony marks the end of the four-year journey of building the Digital Transformation Hub and the starting point for opening a new opportunity for innovation in digital transformation." He added, "We will do our best to strengthen companies’ digital transformation (DX) capabilities and enhance manufacturing competitiveness through the Digital Transformation Hub."
