Hamyang-gun Establishes Remote Inspection System for Streetlights to Prevent Electrical Safety Accidents
Minimizing Human Casualties from Electrical Disaster Pre-Maintenance and Electric Shock Accidents
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has established a remote inspection system for streetlights to prevent electrical safety accidents such as electric shocks.
According to the county on the 20th, streetlights are installed over wide areas, making safety management and accident response difficult, exposing them to electrical hazards such as electric shocks.
Accordingly, the county was selected for the "2023 IoT-based Road Lighting Equipment Remote Inspection System Construction Project" led by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and invested a budget of 43 million KRW including national funds to complete the installation of remote inspection devices at 200 streetlight distribution boxes within the jurisdiction.
Through this, data such as voltage, current, leakage current, and temperature are monitored to maintain electrical hazard risks in advance, and especially, in dangerous situations such as heavy rain, it is now possible to minimize casualties caused by electric shock accidents.
