A man in his 40s who disappeared after leaving his vehicle on the Incheon Bridge was found dead at sea after about 16 hours.
According to the Incheon Coast Guard on the 19th, a report was received by the coast guard around 7:36 p.m. the previous day stating that "there is no driver in a parked vehicle" on the Incheon Bridge road heading toward Songdo.
The coast guard, contacted by the control room, found the vehicle belonging to Mr. A, in his 40s, near the main tower of the Incheon Bridge. Mr. A's ID was inside the vehicle, and it was confirmed that a black box had been installed.
The police, deploying patrol vessels and helicopters to search the surrounding sea, received a report from a ship around 12:06 p.m. that day stating "an object that appears to be a corpse has been seen," and discovered Mr. A's body.
Mr. A was recovered without breathing or pulse, already deceased at the time.
The coast guard plans to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident based on the vehicle's black box and family statements.
