Gyeongnam Nonghyup Donates 8.4 Million KRW Development Support Fund to Changshin University
Gyeongnam Nonghyup delivered 8.4 million won in university development support funds to Changshin University on the 19th.
This delivery of development support funds was made with the sponsorship of the Rural-Urban Win-Win National Movement Headquarters to promote college students' participation in rural labor assistance. Gyeongnam Nonghyup signed a business agreement with Changshin University in April this year to introduce a rural volunteer credit recognition system, support necessary expenses for rural labor assistance, and provide university development support funds to activate rural workforce support.
Changshin University conducted rural labor assistance on weekends five times with about 150 participants, considering the academic schedule during the harvest season of garlic and onions, which are severely short of labor, helping farms struggling with workforce shortages.
Lee Won-geun, President of Changshin University, said, “We will continue to do our best so that our university students and faculty can contribute to labor during the busy farming season, when rural labor is lacking due to aging and a decrease in the young population.”

Kim Ju-yang, Head of the Headquarters, said, “The institutional support from Changshin University and the active participation of students in rural labor assistance have helped alleviate the shortage of rural labor,” adding, “We are grateful to the Changshin University officials and students who have shown great interest and warm encouragement for agriculture and rural areas.”
