The Public Health Medical Plan Implementation Results are reviewed and the performance of public health medical institutions' plans is evaluated annually by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in accordance with the Public Health Medical Act.
The evaluation is conducted on 194 public medical institutions including national university hospitals, local medical centers, special disease hospitals, and geriatric hospitals, focusing on three areas: ▲expansion of essential medical service provision systems ▲strengthening public health medical capabilities ▲reinforcement of the public health medical system foundation.
Seoul National University Hospital provides systematic medical services by operating the Seoul Metropolitan Severe Trauma Final Treatment Center and Rare Disease Central Support Center, which establish trauma treatment systems and central-regional rare disease treatment linkage systems, as well as an integrated care system for severe pediatric and adolescent patients. In addition, as a regional responsible medical institution representing the Seoul area, it is actively carrying out projects to strengthen publicness.
In particular, in this evaluation, it received high scores for operating the Seoul Metropolitan Severe Patient Public Transport Center (SMICU) for rapid transfer of severe emergency patients and establishing a public health medical cooperation system. Furthermore, the operation of the public clinical professor system and the 'Home Ventilator-Equipped Patient and Home Cancer Patient Visiting Nursing Project,' a cancer patient care method, were evaluated as contributing to filling the gaps in essential regional medical services.
