'What is the Proper Development Direction for the Golf Industry?' Seminar at the National Assembly on the 19th
The 'What is the Right Direction for the Korean Golf Industry? National Assembly Seminar,' hosted by Lee Yong, a member of the People Power Party, and organized by the Korean Golf Industry Association, will be held on the 19th at 2 p.m. in the National Assembly Members' Office Building, Seminar Room 2.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, The PR, and the Korea Golf Caddy Federation, this seminar features presentations by Professor Yoo Sang-geon of Sangmyung University and Oh Sang-jun, director of the Asia Golf Humanities Research Institute.
The first presenter, Professor Yoo Sang-geon of the Department of Sports ICT Convergence, will analyze the current status of golf courses, golf equipment and supplies industries, golf tournaments, media, marketing, and information and communication technology (ICT) related to the golf industry under the theme "Current Status and Development Direction of the Korean Golf Industry." He will discuss the cultivation of a proper K-Golf culture and its issues.
Next, Director Oh Sang-jun will present on the sustainability of the golf industry, introducing solutions from advanced countries that have focused on quantitative growth of golf and environmental, social, and responsibility issues, and will explore the applicability of these solutions domestically.
Lee Dong-hee, CEO of The PR and an advisory committee member of the association, will serve as the moderator for the discussion. Suggestions will be made by Professor Yoo, Director Oh, Seo Cheon-beom, director of the Korea Leisure Industry Research Institute, lawyer Na Seung-bok, Professor Kim Tae-young, head of the Department of Sports at Kyung Hee University, and Jang Bo-yoon, Asian evaluator of the LPGA Global Education Team.
The Korean Golf Industry Association is an academic organization leading the golf industry through policy proposals and support activities for management in the golf sector.

Choi Soo-hyun, chair of the advisory committee of the Korean Golf Industry Association and distinguished professor at Kookmin University (former Financial Supervisory Service governor), explained the purpose of the seminar, saying, "This seminar will be a time for experts from various fields to gather around the association to integrate golf industry and academia and seek cooperation methods."
