Park Sejin, Who Worked as a Sanitation Worker
"Always Generous to Neighbors in Difficult Circumstances"
A woman in her 50s who cared for her mother with dementia for 10 years donated her organs, saving five lives before passing away.
The Korea Organ and Tissue Donation Agency announced on the 18th that Park Se-jin (59) donated her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys (left and right) to five patients and then passed away on the 1st of last month.
On October 27th, after finishing work and returning home to prepare a meal, Park suddenly collapsed and entered a brain-dead state. Despite the medical staff's active treatment, her family was told there was no chance of recovery. Since Park had often expressed her wish to donate her organs, her family decided to honor her wishes and proceed with the donation.

According to her family, Park was born as the second of six siblings in Cheonan and was known for her warm heart, always giving to those around her. Having overcome difficult times growing up, she never hesitated to help neighbors who were less fortunate than herself.
She also consistently cared for those around her while taking care of her mother, who had suffered from dementia for 10 years.
Park’s husband, Kim Young-do, said he felt sorry that his wife, who worked as a janitor at Korea Electric Power Corporation for 17 years, was always busy and rarely had time to go on trips. He also sent a message saying, "I’m sorry you had to suffer after meeting me. Next time, I will treat you well in a better world, so please stay well in heaven until then."
