Students of Dong-A University Department of Media Communication Win Grand Prize at 'XR Device Content Ideathon'
Student Team Led by Kim Min-ki Presents Effective ABA Therapy Content for Children with Mild Autism
Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) announced on the 18th that students from the Department of Media Communication won the Grand Prize at the ‘XR Device Content Ideathon’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and others.

View original imageThis contest was held over two recent days, hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the National IT Industry Promotion Agency, Gumi Electronics & Information Technology Institute, and the Next Generation Convergence Content Industry Association.
The team, consisting of Kim Min-ki, Kim Min-ji, Park Seo-jin, and Lee Ha-yeon from Dong-A University’s Department of Media Communication, competed with university teams nationwide on the first day’s ideathon based on mentoring, and after a competitive presentation on the morning of the second day, they received the Grand Prize (National IT Industry Promotion Agency President’s Award) and a prize of 2 million KRW.
They submitted a project that enables the most effective ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) therapy for children with mild autism through XR (Extended Reality) devices.
Through this, they proposed an idea to reduce the financial burden of ABA therapy and ease the pressure on treatment facilities concentrated in the metropolitan area, allowing more children with mild autism to easily receive ABA therapy and helping them look at the world with hope.

Team leader Kim Min-ki said, “I realized once again that cooperation, free feedback, and interaction among team members are important. I believe we achieved good results because we collaborated. Thanks to the support from the school and department through the 2023 Local University Revitalization Project’s ‘Public Social Service Specialization Program,’ we were able to prepare with peace of mind.”
