Korea Philip Morris Expands 'Modumoa Campaign' to Nationwide Directly Operated Stores
10 Nationwide IQOS Direct Stores and 3 Official Retailers Implemented
Korea Philip Morris announced on the 18th that starting from the 20th, it will expand the ‘Modu Moa Campaign,’ which collects IQOS devices and dedicated tobacco sticks for proper disposal, at nationwide directly operated stores and some official IQOS retailers.
The campaign will be implemented at 10 directly operated IQOS stores nationwide and 3 official IQOS retailers. Used IQOS devices and dedicated tobacco sticks, ‘HEETS’ and ‘TEREA,’ can be collected and disposed of in designated collection boxes placed inside the stores. The collected devices and sticks undergo disassembly and sorting processes, then are sent to specialized waste disposal companies for recycling or disposal according to their materials. It is estimated that approximately 60 tons of devices and 1 to 2 tons of tobacco sticks will be collected annually through this campaign.
A representative from Korea Philip Morris stated, “Through the Modu Moa Campaign, we aim to collect used IQOS devices and tobacco sticks to prevent illegal dumping, minimize environmental impact, and contribute to resource circulation. As we expand the campaign, we hope that more customers will participate.”
