This recognition came from excellent evaluations in quantitative traffic demand management and the discovery of special policies and cooperation with city administration, following consecutive grand prize wins in 2021 and 2022, and this year being selected as the best district.
The traffic demand management evaluation, conducted to alleviate traffic congestion and realize low-carbon green transportation, was carried out from January to October this year targeting 25 autonomous districts in Seoul. The evaluation was based on 11 detailed indicators across four areas: ▲traffic inducement charge ▲corporate traffic demand management ▲focused traffic demand management ▲discovery of special policies and cooperation with city administration.
In this evaluation, the district achieved a high collection rate of over 97% this year despite economic difficulties by conducting thorough on-site investigations of subjects liable for the traffic inducement charge and actively providing guidance and publicity to improve payment rates.
In particular, this evaluation highly praised Yangcheon-gu for actively discovering unique policy projects reflecting the characteristics of the smart city Yangcheon-gu, differentiated from other districts, such as ▲Bicycle Keeper Solution ▲Smart Safe Crossing Solution ▲Smart Parking Management Solution ▲Alleyway and Hill Direction Warning Demonstration Project.
In the corporate traffic demand management area, the district encouraged participation in corporate traffic demand programs through promotion, explanatory meetings, and an organic cooperation system, objectively checked program implementation, contributing to the substantial realization of traffic congestion mitigation and low-carbon green transportation.
Additionally, in the focused traffic demand management area, a public-private joint traffic demand management campaign was conducted to voluntarily induce participation in corporate traffic volume reduction programs and promote traffic volume reduction activities through on-site inspections of traffic demand management reduction programs.
