National Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-su) held the "8th AETA 2023 International Conference," a major international academic event in the field of advanced engineering.
The international conference, held on the morning of the 15th at the So-min Hall in the university's Future Hall, was organized by the College of Engineering at Pukyong National University (Dean Wang Je-pil), hosted by the Korean Society of Mechanical Processing Engineering, and co-hosted by Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam, Technical University of Ostrava in the Czech Republic, and Texas State University in the United States. The event was attended by over 60 researchers from Korea, Vietnam, the Czech Republic, the United States, Japan, Malaysia, and other countries.
This conference aimed to promote research exchange among researchers in the field of advanced engineering and provide opportunities for discussions on international joint research. Approximately 60 research papers were presented across six sessions: △ Computer Science and Networks △ Advanced Materials Science △ Mechatronics Engineering △ Green Energy and Power Engineering △ Communications and Signal Processing △ Automatic Control and Robotics.
Keynote presentations included a lecture by Professor Emeritus Kim Sang-bong of Pukyong National University on "Design of Backstepping Controllers Based on Nonlinear Control Theory," a presentation by W. James Wilde of Texas State University on "Advanced Engineering, from Theory to Application," and a talk by Senior Researcher Oh Sang-rok of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology on "Introduction of Various Robotic Disinfection Systems to Overcome the COVID-19 Pandemic."

The AETA International Conference was held in Bogota, Colombia in 2019, was canceled in 2021 due to COVID-19, and was held this year at Pukyong National University.
