View original image"Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand" is a youth coming-of-age romance about Kim Baekdu (played by Jang Dong-yoon), a 20-year-old wrestling prodigy, and Oh Yu-gyeong (played by Lee Joo-myung), a former neighborhood gang leader, who reunite. Set in the wrestling city of "Geosan," known for its human warmth, the drama tells the story of young people striving to make flowers bloom on the sandpit, delivering cheerful excitement and warm emotions.
In this drama, the homes of the male and female leads are located in the upper village of Guryongpo Japanese Houses Street, famous as the filming location of "When the Camellia Blooms," while the restaurant and cafe scenes were filmed near Homigot.
Additionally, the Jang-gil-ri Complex Fishing Park in Guryongpo, which has recently become a popular spot for SNS life shots, is also featured. The traditional wrestling champion family’s nourishing dish, mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), will frequently appear as well.
To celebrate the premiere, Pohang City will hold an SNS drama quiz event from the 16th to the 22nd. Among those who answer all three drama-related quiz questions correctly, 30 winners will be selected by lottery to receive souvenirs such as snow globes and eco bags. The lottery results will be announced on Pohang City's SNS on the 28th.
Park Sang-jin, Director of the Convention and Tourism Industry Division, said, "I hope that through the drama 'Flowers Bloom Even in the Sand,' we can introduce Pohang’s beautiful coastline and relatively lesser-known seaside attractions." He added, "Following 'When the Camellia Blooms' and 'Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,' we will accelerate the development of tourism products linked to the drama promotion and filming locations so that Pohang can truly become a K-drama tourism city."
