Choi Jin-sik, Chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, stated this at the ‘9th Medium-sized Entrepreneurs Day Ceremony’ held at the Westin Chosun Seoul on the 15th, emphasizing, “The expanded influence of the state on most corporate activities should be reduced to boost corporate vitality and autonomy.”

View original imageThe ceremony, held for the first time since the 'Special Act on Medium-sized Enterprises' was converted into a permanent law on March 30 this year and came into effect on October 19, was attended by more than 200 people including Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Jang Young-jin, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, representatives and executives of medium-sized enterprises, and officials from related organizations.
At the ceremony, 46 individuals, including medium-sized entrepreneurs and officials from related organizations who contributed to the development of Korea’s economy and industry, were awarded government honors such as the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit. The honor of the Gold Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit went to Chairman Kang Ho-gap of Shin Young. Chairman Kang served as the chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises for nine years, leading the enactment of the ‘Special Act on Medium-sized Enterprises,’ the improvement of related laws and systems, and the systematization of support policies. The Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit was awarded to Chairman Park Il-dong of Disec. CEO Lee Jang-gyu of Telechips and Chairman Yoo Ji-yeon of TC Taechang received the Industrial Service Medal. The 'Medium-sized Enterprise Growth Tower,' newly established in 2019 by the medium-sized enterprise sector, was presented to 14 excellent companies that have grown into medium-sized enterprises through continuous innovation.
