‘Birdie Queen’ Lee Ga-young (photo) has become the ‘Donation Queen’.
This year, Lee Ga-young made 263 birdies on the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour. She joined Dream With Birdie, pledging 20,000 KRW for each birdie, resulting in a donation of 5.26 million KRW. So far, Lee Ga-young has accumulated 11,273,000 KRW through Dream With Birdie, ranking first in cumulative donations as well. While most players pledge 10,000 KRW per birdie, Lee Ga-young pledged double that amount. She said, "Since the donation amount increases with better performance, it feels less burdensome. I want to continue participating steadily in Dream With Birdie."

This year, the second highest donation through Dream With Birdie was made by prize money leader Lee Ye-won. She made 315 birdies and donated 3.15 million KRW. This season, a total of 109 players participated in Dream With Birdie, including 60 from the regular tour, 6 from the Dream Tour, and 44 from the Champions Tour. The participating players collectively made 13,208 birdies, donating 51,813,000 KRW. SBS and Mediheal added 125.5 million KRW, bringing the total Dream With Birdie donations to 177.31 million KRW. KLPGA uses this fund to support young adults preparing for independence.
