Gimhae City Publishes Guidebook on '6 No-Parking and No-Stopping Zones'
Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province is distributing a booklet titled “Illegal Parking and Stopping Resident Reporting System Q&A” to provide guidance on the six absolute no parking and stopping zones.
According to the city, the six absolute no parking and stopping zones are ▲on crosswalks (pedestrian crossings) ▲within 10 meters of bus stops ▲within 5 meters of fire hydrants ▲within 5 meters of intersection corners ▲sidewalks ▲and roads in front of elementary school main gates.
The first five zones are subject to immediate 24-hour enforcement, while violations near elementary schools are enforced on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If a vehicle is found parked in these zones, any citizen can report it through the Safe Report app operated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and fines are imposed based solely on photos or videos uploaded to the app without on-site verification by officials.

The city stated that reports of parking and stopping violations were 1,541 in January this year, but increased to 3,844 in October when sidewalks were included as prohibited zones.
Accordingly, the city explained that the booklet was published to prevent citizens from violating parking and stopping rules and to help citizens better understand the prohibited zones.
The booklet is structured as a story featuring Gimhae City’s new character, ‘Todeogi,’ and contains 26 items addressing citizens’ common questions about the six absolute no parking and stopping zones.
The city plans to distribute the booklet to citizens through 19 town and township administrative welfare centers and has also uploaded the booklet content on the Gimhae City website.
