KOSPI and KOSDAQ Start Higher... Foreigners and Institutions Expand 'Buying'

On the 15th, the KOSPI index opened at 2,558.44, up 14.26 points (0.56%) from the previous trading day, as dealers were working in the dealing room at the Hana Bank headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul. Foreigners and institutions are leading the index with net purchases of 71.4 billion KRW and 6.3 billion KRW, respectively. Individuals are the only group net selling, with 76.7 billion KRW. In the futures market, only foreigners are selling, offloading 30.8 billion KRW. Individuals and institutions are buying 27.2 billion KRW and 6.0 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top 10 market capitalization stocks, only NAVER is in decline at -0.22%. Notable gains include Samsung SDI +3.01%, POSCO Holdings +1.95%, LG Chem +1.94%, and Kia +1.49%. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are up 0.82% and 1.32%, respectively.
As of 9:09 AM, the KOSDAQ is trading at 844.11, up 0.42% (3.52 points) from the previous day. The KOSDAQ opened at 844.76, up 0.50% (4.17 points) from the previous day. Individuals and institutions are net buyers with 28.1 billion KRW and 5.6 billion KRW, respectively, while foreigners are net sellers with 27.9 billion KRW.
