The meeting proceeded with a presentation on the tasks and implementation plan of the research project, followed by gathering opinions and discussions from related departments and advisory committee members for the establishment of the National Fisheries History and Culture Museum.
Conducted by the Korea Institute for Local Economy Research, this study aims to establish a roadmap for the museum's establishment and develop a facility construction plan that incorporates a differentiated story unique to Pohang Bay through comprehensive analysis across city administration. Starting with the kick-off meeting, it will proceed through interim reports and announce the final research results in the first half of next year.

Jung Cheol-young, Director of the Fisheries Policy Division, stated, “We will do our best to establish the National Fisheries History and Culture Museum in Pohang, the largest marine and fisheries city on the East Coast, to properly convey and inherit our traditional fisheries history and culture.”
