Yongin City's Local Government Competitiveness Ranks '3rd Nationwide'
Public Autonomy Research Institute Selected as an Excellent Institution in KLCI Evaluation Report
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 14th that it was selected as an excellent institution in this year's 'Korea Local Autonomy Competitiveness Index (KLCI)' evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Public Administration.
The Korea Institute of Public Administration evaluates regional competitiveness by investigating and analyzing official statistical data annually from 226 cities, counties, and districts nationwide, as well as government ministries and public institutions.

In the evaluation divided into three categories: management resources, management activities, and management performance, Yongin City scored 666.79 out of 1000 points, ranking 3rd among 75 local governments nationwide.
The city explained that it received high scores particularly in the 'management activities' category, which covers public administration, local finance, public safety, and economic activities, as well as in the 'management resources' category, which includes urban infrastructure such as transportation, culture, parks, human resources, and the regional industrial base.
The city added that it received favorable evaluations for actively promoting projects such as the ‘L-shaped semiconductor belt creation’ and ‘semiconductor expressway construction’ as part of the 8th term mayor’s pledges to strengthen the city's semiconductor industry competitiveness, as well as for advancing urban regeneration projects in old downtown areas and road network construction.
