Gwangjin-gu Selected as 'Top District' in Seoul City Tax Collection Evaluation
Received high scores overall in evaluation items such as collection rate, progress rate, and correction participation rate... Recognized for efforts to increase revenue and secured a reward of 16 million KRW
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) was selected as the top-tier "Eutteum-gu" in the performance evaluation of delegated tax collection conducted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The evaluation was conducted to select and encourage districts that made efforts to achieve revenue targets and improve tax administration among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul. The assessment comprehensively covered the performance of six tax items, including acquisition tax and local income tax, collected from January to October this year.
As a result of the evaluation, the district received high scores overall in three areas: ▲achievement rate of revenue targets ▲collection rate compared to assessed amounts ▲participation rate in city administration. In particular, the district was recognized for excellent performance in the significantly expanded participation rate area through outstanding case presentations, tax base discovery, and electronic delivery.
Despite difficult conditions such as economic recession and a decrease in real estate transactions, the district collected 326.2 billion KRW, exceeding the target collection amount of 314.8 billion KRW, achieving 103.6%.
To achieve the revenue targets, the district made a more systematic and proactive effort in tax collection by ▲establishing comprehensive tax collection measures and holding reporting meetings ▲implementing a responsibility collection system ▲discovering tax bases through diversified investigation techniques ▲forming a special task force for tax collection.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "This award is the result of the combined efforts of the residents' high level of tax awareness and the staff's dedication to tax collection," adding, "We will do our best to expand finances through various policies and improve taxpayer convenience in the future."
