Taechu and Buyu Breed Management Training
Strong Response to Field-Centered Education
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 14th that it conducted persimmon cultivation technology training at the Agricultural Technology Center's Future Life Hall Agricultural Education Center.
About 30 farmers attended this training, where orchard seedling management education for the Taechu and Buyu varieties was provided.
First, in the theoretical education session, a special lecture was given by Ahn Gwang-hwan, head of the Persimmon Research Institute at the Gyeongnam Provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services.
In particular, during the field training held at the farm of Lee Sang-min in Seongnae-ri, Danseong-myeon, Seong Jae-hee, Korea's top master of agricultural technology, was invited to demonstrate the stopping and pruning of Buyu and Taechu persimmon trees, resolving questions through a Q&A session, which received great responses.
One trainee said, "There were many things I was curious about on-site, but through this training, I was able to see and learn directly, which was very helpful."
An official from the Sancheong-gun Agricultural Technology Center stated, "Stopping and pruning seedlings in orchards are crucial parts directly linked to reducing production costs, stable production, and improving fruit quality," adding, "We hope this training will help persimmon farmers, who faced difficulties due to abnormal weather conditions this year, manage their orchards properly after harvest to produce high-quality fruit."
