Chen Si, President of Mohegan Inspire, expressed his ambition to make Inspire Resort a global resort that transcends nationalities. He stated that the current staffing issues will be resolved by actively utilizing university partnerships and local community networks before the full opening of the resort.
On the 13th, at the 'Soft Opening Media Day' held at Inspire Resort in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, President Chen Si said, "The Inspire project was initiated to create a mega complex entertainment resort representing Asia on Yeongjong Island, Incheon," adding, "We will set a new standard for entertainment resorts by combining diverse facilities, top-notch hospitality services, and creative, high-quality content." He also added, "The Inspire project, which we have been preparing for, has been a journey of challenges and excitement, and thanks to the interest and support of all stakeholders including Mohegan, the Korean government and local governments, local communities, and domestic and international media, it was unveiled on the 30th of last month."

During the two-day Soft Opening Media Day from the 13th to the 14th, which invited major domestic media outlets, President Chen Si explained the brand vision and strategy and introduced various resort facilities. A media tour was also arranged, allowing attendees to explore the resort facilities firsthand. The event was attended by President Chen Si, Michael Jensen, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and Hyunki Jang, Arena Executive Director, who shared the development journey of the Inspire 1A phase project, future plans, ultimate brand goals, and marketing strategies.
They also addressed the recent employment difficulties and response measures in the hotel and resort industry. President Chen Si said, "Currently, some facilities such as the casino are in a soft open state and not fully operational, with full-time staff recruited at about 50-60% of the target." He added, "It is particularly difficult to recruit young staff, but we plan to strengthen partnerships with various universities and actively utilize local networks in Yeongjong Island to find solutions before the full opening."
Inspire plans to sequentially open all facilities by the first half of next year. Following the soft opening, which includes major facilities such as a hotel with three towers of different concepts (1,275 rooms), the most extensive hotel ballroom in Korea equipped with state-of-the-art MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) facilities, Korea's first performance-specialized arena, the digital entertainment street ‘Aurora’, and diverse and creative directly operated restaurants, the ‘Inspire Mall’?a complex cultural space combining shopping, dining, and entertainment?and a foreigner-only casino will open in the first quarter of next year.
In the second quarter of next year, the outdoor experiential entertainment facility ‘Discovery Park’ and the year-round indoor waterpark with a glass dome design, ‘Splash Bay’, are scheduled for full opening. Alongside these, a uniquely themed mega international food court, Korea’s largest immersive content exhibition hall, and indoor children’s play facilities will also open.
