Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Hwasum Employees Create 'Safety Bags' for Children in Vulnerable Overseas Areas

View original imageTaekwang Group's textile and petrochemical affiliates, Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Fiber, announced on the 13th that they will conduct a participatory donation campaign to directly create safety bags for children in vulnerable overseas areas.
153 employees of Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Fiber personally made safety bags called 'Mego' for children in vulnerable areas of the Philippines. The safety bag 'Mego' is equipped with reflective tape to ensure children's safety while walking at night. The safety bags made by the employees will be delivered to children in the Philippines through the international relief and development NGO, World Share.
CEO Jo Jin-hwan said, "We hope that the bags 'Mego' made together by our employees will bring safety and warmth to children in vulnerable overseas areas," adding, "Taekwang Industrial will continue active and meaningful ESG management activities in the New Year 2024."
This is the second participatory donation campaign conducted by Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Fiber along with their employees this year. Last month, they made and delivered attachment dolls called 'Conidoll' to about 250 children in vulnerable areas. Including the current 'Mego' campaign, a total of over 400 Taekwang employees have participated in participatory donation campaigns.

Meanwhile, Taekwang Industrial and Daehan Fiber have been supporting vulnerable children for 10 years since 2013. The 'Didim Seed Bank' supporting children in group homes has provided 500 million won to 1,500 children over 10 years, and plans to continue support until 2026.
