Jang Hye-young "Ryu Ho-jeong Should Leave the Party... Assuming Male Perpetrators? Who Did Such Feminist Politics?"
Former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop's third-party group 'Saeroun Seontaek' (New Choice) and Justice Party lawmaker Ryu Ho-jeong's youth opinion group within the Justice Party, 'Se Samche Gwollyeok' (Third Power), have jointly embarked on founding a new political party. Amid this, Justice Party lawmaker Jang Hye-young advised Ryu, who insists on remaining in the party, to "resign."
On the 12th, on SBS's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show,' Jang said, "I think that would be better for both Ryu and 'Se Samche Gwollyeok,'" recommending resignation.

Jang pointed out, "Because it is a matter of trust with the people, if you say you will do new politics or create a new force, wouldn't it be common sense for anyone to join that force rather than staying in the Justice Party?" She added, "If not, people inevitably question 'why,' and the way to answer that 'why' inevitably leads to defensive politics."
She continued, "If Ryu, who made different choices from me in 'Se Samche Gwollyeok,' wants to persuade the people with that intention, I hope she pursues that direction in the most admirable and justifiable way," adding, "I believe that is the path to gain more."
Regarding Ryu's statement at the National Assembly the previous day that she would not engage in feminism politics based on the premise that "all men are perpetrators," Jang said, "I wonder who has practiced such feminism politics," and criticized, "I do not think feminism or women's rights in South Korea has been pursued by setting all men as perpetrators. That assumption itself is somewhat unreasonable."
Former lawmaker Geum and Ryu also expressed at the National Assembly the previous day that they support "equal military service for men and women" and that "a volunteer military system and female conscription could be discussed." On this, Jang evaluated, "Even just looking at what happens within the military and among female soldiers, those who do not understand how many more problems will arise if the current structure of gender discrimination is not overcome as the number of women in the military increases are few," adding, "Therefore, I do not think it was a very good political move."

However, she also viewed the volunteer military system and female conscription based on gender equality positively in the long term. When asked by the host if she sees it positively in the long term, she replied, "That is our (Justice Party's) party stance," adding, "The volunteer military system must, of course, be a system promoted based on and premised on gender equality."
