Pohang City Administration Promises Active Promotion to Enhance Brand Value
On the 11th, Pohang City appointed Ryu Yeon-ju (17), the winner of MBN Burning Rose Team 2 Shindong Singing Contest, as Pohang City’s promotional ambassador at the City Hall External Cooperation Office.

View original imageKnown as the ‘Pohang Dolphin Girl’ and emerging as the next-generation Gugak trot star, Ryu Yeon-ju is a native of Pohang. She graduated from Pohang Steel Elementary School and Steel Middle School and is currently studying Gayageum Byeongchang at the National Traditional Arts High School.
Ryu Yeon-ju announced the birth of a versatile star from Pohang nationwide by winning the grand prize at the 22nd Pohang Beach National Singing Contest last year and this September at the MBN Burning Rose Team 2 Shindong Singing Contest with passionate performances of ‘Baetti-eora’ and ‘Wolhagaya’.
Through this ambassador appointment, Ryu Yeon-ju will engage in external activities to enhance Pohang’s brand value for two years and participate in various festivals and events to promote the revitalization of Pohang’s culture, arts, and tourism.
Ryu Yeon-ju said, “I am very happy to become the promotional ambassador of my hometown, Pohang City,” adding, “I take pride in the nickname ‘Pohang Dolphin Girl’ and will do my best to widely promote the diverse charms of Pohang across the country.”
