View original imageThe briefing was chaired by Kwon Hyuk-won, Director of the Job and Economy Bureau, and attended by over 40 participants including related organizations such as the Pohang South and North Police Stations, South and North Fire Stations, the Coast Guard, the Naval Aviation Command, and heads of relevant departments within Pohang City.
The session began with a detailed explanation of the overall festival plans, followed by reports on traffic measures, street vendor regulation, promotional strategies, and safety management at sunrise viewing spots. Through gathering opinions from related agencies, a thorough review of preparations was conducted to leave no gaps.
In particular, this year’s event has strengthened safety by installing container booths throughout the venue to protect against strong winds and cold waves. Celebrating the Year of the Blue Dragon in 2024, various sunrise programs themed around the 'dragon' have been prepared, including an object exhibition, Blue Dragon fortune counseling center, wish writing, and sharing of rice cake soup, aiming to elevate the festival’s status as the 'Representative New Year's Sunrise Festival of Korea.'
