Democratic Party's 'First Recruited Talent' Environmental Lawyer Park Ji-hye
The Democratic Party of Korea is reported to have recruited lawyer Park Ji-hye, a 40-something who has been active in climate change-related activities at environmental organizations, as its 'first talent recruitment.'
A party official said on the 10th, "The party's Talent Committee has designated lawyer Park Ji-hye as the first recruited talent and plans to announce it tomorrow."
The party's Talent Committee is said to have selected lawyer Park after searching mainly for female experts in their 30s and 40s as the first recruited talent.
Lawyer Park graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, then completed graduate studies in Environmental Planning, a Juris Doctor, and a Ph.D. in Law at the same university. She also earned a master's degree in Environmental Management and Policy from Lund University in Sweden.
She has mainly engaged in public interest activities in the environmental field while working with the climate organization Plan 1.5.
After joining the nonprofit Climate Solutions, she began activities aimed at the rapid phase-out of coal power and the expansion of renewable energy.

Lawyer Park also serves as an auditor for the nonprofit Energy Transition Forum. Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is listed as an advisor to the Energy Transition Forum.
