2024 Busan Red Cross Membership Fee 'Hope Sharing Donation Fundraising Ceremony' Held

On the 8th at 2 PM, Busan City held the '2024 Red Cross Membership Hope Sharing Fundraising Declaration Ceremony' together with the Busan branch of the Korean Red Cross (Chairman Seo Jeong-ui) in the reception room on the 7th floor of City Hall.
This declaration ceremony marks the start of the 2024 Red Cross membership 'Hope Sharing Fund' fundraising campaign.
At the same time, a donation ceremony by representative donors is held to promote the value of Red Cross humanitarian activities and to spread participation.
The representative donors include Taekwang CEO Yoon Seong-deok, Heechang Mulsan Chairman Kwon Jung-cheon, Seowon Nanum Chairperson Kang Su-ja, Social Welfare Corporation Danwoo Welfare Foundation Chairperson Jeong Chan-ryul, Busan Country Club Vice Chairman Kim Yoon-gi, Diplomat CEO Jang Min-cheol, Busan Branch Women’s Volunteer Special Advisory Chairperson Choi Kyung-ran, and Red Cross Volunteer Association President Ahn Jeong-ae.
The 2024 Red Cross membership fees will be intensively collected until January 31 next year, and thereafter operated through a continuous fundraising method until the end of November.
The collected Red Cross membership fees will be used for various humanitarian activities such as disaster relief and prevention activities, discovering and providing medical support to vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots, health and safety education, and social service.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “Red Cross membership fees are valuable resources that bridge the gap between welfare policies and the field,” and added, “I appreciate the dedication of the Red Cross, which leads disaster and accident site recovery and actively supports households in crisis on a regular basis. Thanks to the active participation of Busan’s businesspeople and opinion leaders in sharing activities, Busan is becoming a renowned city of sharing. We will strive to create a social atmosphere where those who practice sharing are more respected.”

Since 2000, Busan City has participated in the membership fee fundraising campaign by delivering special Red Cross membership fees to promote a culture of donation and support the humanitarian projects of the Red Cross.
