On the 7th, the Seoul Metropolitan Chapter of the Korean Red Cross (President Kwon Young-gyu) announced, "A faceless donation angel has appeared, donating 1 million won to be used for children growing up without parental love."
The white envelope handed over by the anonymous donor contained a clumsily written message: "Please use this for children who have grown up without parents. I would be grateful. Our four grandchildren received help during their middle and high school years. It is a small amount, but I am 94 years old."
According to the Seoul Chapter of the Red Cross, the grandmother personally visited the Southern Volunteer Center of the Korean Red Cross in Gwanak-gu, Seoul, handed an envelope containing 1 million won to the person in charge, the volunteer center director, and then left without revealing her identity.
The Seoul Chapter of the Red Cross plans to use the grandmother’s donation of 1 million won to support young adults preparing for independence after leaving child welfare facilities, as well as children and adolescents from crisis families, by providing living and housing expenses.

An employee of the Southern Volunteer Center of the Seoul Chapter said, "The grandmother suddenly came to the office, and at first, we thought she might need help from the Red Cross or had a complaint that needed to be resolved. It seems she handed the envelope directly to the volunteer center director out of concern that the precious donation might not be properly delivered if given to staff. We thank the donor for her warmth and will do our best to ensure the support is delivered straight to where it is most needed."
