Suwon City Shared Bicycle 'Tajo' Operation Ends on the 27th of This Month
The shared bicycle service "Tazo (TAZO)" in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, will cease operations on the 27th of this month.
Tazo is an unmanned rental shared bicycle service jointly operated by Suwon City, KT, and Wijit Energy under an agreement, starting from October 2020.
Beginning with 1,000 bicycles and expanding to 3,000, the service saw a decline in usage and profitability due to the increase of private shared bicycles, leading the operating company (Wijit Energy) to decide to end the business.
Tazo will be available for use until December 27. For the two days from November 29 to 30, the 30-day passes sold through the Tazo app will have their usage period changed to end on December 27, and any unused passes will be refunded.

A Suwon City official stated, "It is regrettable that Tazo, which played a significant role as a convenient transportation option for citizens, is ending operations, but we have no choice but to follow the decision of the partner companies. The gap left by Tazo can be filled by private shared bicycles."
