Jeju Coast Guard - Jeju LNG Headquarters Distribute Life Jackets to Fishermen
Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief So Byeong-yong) announced on the 6th that it distributed life jackets to local fishermen in cooperation with Korea Gas Corporation Jeju LNG Headquarters (Head Hwang Dong-an) the previous day to prevent marine safety accidents during the winter season.
The life jacket distribution campaign, held for the second time this year following last year, was promoted to prevent marine accidents in advance and spread a safety culture by distributing life jackets to local fishermen due to the increased risk of marine accidents such as fishing boat capsizing caused by frequent bad weather during the winter season.

The life jacket distribution campaign held at Aewol Port was attended by the Chief of Jeju Maritime Police Station and the Head of Korea Gas Corporation Jeju LNG Headquarters. They directly distributed life jackets to fishermen boarding the incoming and outgoing fishing boats, urging them to prevent winter safety accidents and comply with safety regulations for safe fishing operations.
A Jeju Maritime Police official said, “Along with this life jacket distribution, we will do our best to prevent fishermen’s safety accidents caused by bad winter weather through fishing boat inspections and continuous safety guidance and education for fishermen.”
