Son Young-sil, CEO of the Chilgok Culture and Tourism Foundation, conveyed the exhibition’s planning intent, saying, "Through a project that comfortably captures the life stories of neighbors living in Chilgok through photography, we revealed the diversity and value possessed by the people of Chilgok."

County Governor Kim Jae-wook stated, "During the desperate crisis of the Korean War, it was not advanced weapons but the citizens carrying traditional backpacks who defended Chilgok. I hope this exhibition makes it known that ordinary residents are the protagonists and driving force behind the development of Chilgok-gun."
