Taekwang Group Engages in Win-Win Activities with Partners and Local Communities for Year-End
Major affiliates of Taekwang Group have embarked on win-win cooperation with partner companies and community-based social contribution activities to mark the end of the year.
Taekwang Group announced on the 5th that ‘Shopping NT,’ a data home shopping broadcast channel operated by its media affiliate TRN, held the ‘Shopping NT Partners Day’ on the 29th of last month to promote mutual growth and win-win cooperation.
The event held at ‘Lavidus’ in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by key executives including CEO Han Sang-wook and representatives and executives from 25 partner companies. CEO Han explained the key initiatives of the ESG Committee launched in October, along with the Fair Trade Compliance Program, Unfair Trade Monitoring Committee, Ethics Committee, and Grievance System operated by Shopping NT to establish transparent transaction order.
Financial affiliate Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance held a ‘Meeting to Improve Protection Measures for Emotional Labor Workers’ at its call center building in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on the 10th of last month. The meeting discussed the results of a survey on difficulties faced by customer service representatives and ways to improve protection measures, along with training on customer response methods to enhance customer satisfaction.
Taekwang Group's infrastructure and leisure affiliate, TCIS, is conducting the "Love Connecting Calls" program in collaboration with the Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone, matching elderly individuals living alone with call center staff to make welfare check calls at least twice a week.

In addition to win-win cooperation with partner companies, social contribution activities linked with local residents were also carried out. Taekwang Industrial’s Ulsan plant, a textile and petrochemical affiliate, recently participated in ‘Happy Companionship, Flying Together in the Sky,’ supported by 21 companies under the Ulsan City Social Contribution Agreement. Volunteers from various companies invited people with physical, visual, and intellectual disabilities to Jeju Island to assist them in experiencing new activities. Taekwang Industrial is providing financial support as a social contribution agreement company of Ulsan City.
Cinecube, the representative brand of art movie theaters operated by Taekwang Group, is offering discount benefits to residents and university students of Jongno-gu, Seoul, where Cinecube is located, from the 6th of this month until the end of the year. Residents of Jongno-gu, workers in Jongno-gu, and university students can watch movies at a discounted price of 8,000 KRW by presenting their ID cards, employee IDs, or student IDs at the ticket office during this period.
Infrastructure and leisure affiliate TCIS is conducting the ‘Love Connecting Phone’ program with the Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone. This activity is a volunteer service that checks on the safety and well-being of elderly people living alone and provides companionship through phone calls. Since 2019, TCIS has been engaged in social contribution activities where elderly people living alone are matched one-on-one with call center employees who make welfare calls at least twice a week.
A Taekwang Group official said, “We will continue to strive for mutual growth and win-win cooperation with partner companies and strengthen communication with local residents,” adding, “We will continuously consider new ways of social contribution activities as part of strengthening ESG management at the group level.”
