Kyobo Lifeplanet Appoints Kim Young-seok, Former SK Bioscience Executive, as New CEO
Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance has appointed a digital finance expert from SK Bioscience as its new CEO.
On the 1st, Kyobo Lifeplanet held a general shareholders' meeting and a board meeting at its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and announced the appointment of Kim Young-seok, former head of strategic planning at SK Bioscience, as the new CEO. His term is two years, lasting until December 2025.
CEO Kim graduated from Seoul National University’s College of Education and worked at management consulting firms Accenture and EY Han Young, where he also helped establish KakaoBank. He later served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at AIA Life, and most recently held the position of Chief Strategy Officer at SK Bioscience.
Based on CEO Kim’s diverse practical experience and extensive network, it is interpreted that the strategy is to pursue digital innovation and growth for Kyobo Lifeplanet, Korea’s first digital insurance company.
