BPA Wins 2023 Korea Sustainable Management Award
Busan Port Authority (BPA) received the Grand Prize in the comprehensive category at the ‘2023 Korea Sustainable Management Awards’ ceremony held on the 1st, co-hosted by the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, the Korea Labor Foundation, and the Korea Sustainable Management Research Institute.
The ‘Korea Sustainable Management Awards’ were established to recognize companies and public institutions actively practicing ESG through continuous innovation and efforts amid global crises, and to share Korea’s sustainable future vision with future generations to create a better tomorrow.

BPA was highly praised for its various activities to establish and spread ESG management in the shipping and port sectors, including ▲ resource circulation projects using construction waste ▲ eco-friendly cargo handling equipment conversion projects ▲ ship slow steaming programs and the activation of onshore power supply systems (AMP), all aimed at achieving carbon neutrality Net-Zero by 2050.
At the awards ceremony’s special session on exemplary ESG management cases, the authority presented on behalf of the awarded companies and institutions and introduced the direction to be taken for a sustainable Busan Port.
