Busan Office of Education Enhances Career and Academic Competency for Multicultural and Talbuk Families
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold the "2024 School Year Elementary and Secondary Admission Briefing for Multicultural and North Korean Defector Students and Parents" four times by the 7th at four multicultural family support centers, including the Dongnae-gu Family Center, targeting about 40 parents.
This briefing aims to enhance the guidance and career and academic advancement capabilities of parents from multicultural families by providing information on admissions for multicultural and North Korean defector students and school life.
The briefing will be conducted using multilingual materials in English, Vietnamese, Chinese, Russian, and Japanese. The instructors, composed of current school principals and others, will guide participants on admission requirements and school life for multicultural and North Korean defector students, and hold a Q&A session with attendees.
Park Ji-hoon, Director of the Education Policy Division at the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, "This briefing will be very helpful in resolving questions during admission preparation and enhancing guidance capabilities for students and parents from multicultural families. We will continue to provide support for the career and academic advancement of multicultural and North Korean defector families."

In July, the Busan Office of Education also held a "2024 University Admission Briefing for Multicultural and North Korean Defector High School Students." They distributed materials published in five languages, including Vietnamese and Russian, as well as special admission guidelines for North Korean defectors in cooperation with the Korea Hana Foundation.
