Public and Private Sectors Collaborate to Build a More Robust Welfare Safety Net

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it will operate an ‘Intensive Crisis Household Discovery Period’ until January 20th next year to help vulnerable groups stay warm during the winter.

The main targets for discovery are △ high-risk vulnerable households notified through the welfare blind spot discovery system △ welfare crisis households such as emergency rescue recipients due to seasonal factors (heating, medical expenses, etc.) △ low-income poor groups who need help due to difficult living conditions.

During this period, the county plans to actively identify and support target individuals by cooperating with eup/myeon offices, local community security councils, and honorary social welfare officers for discovery and support in welfare sectors such as low-income groups, the elderly, and the disabled.

Discovered crisis households will be provided with carbon heating mats, living expenses, grains, and meal kits.

In addition, public resources such as emergency welfare and the basic livelihood security system will be given priority support, and for households where public support is difficult, they will be connected to private resources and selected as integrated case management targets for continuous care.

A county official said, “We will build a more thorough welfare safety net through public-private cooperation to provide timely help to residents in need of welfare services,” and added, “If you find neighbors in need of help, please contact the eup/myeon office or the Hope Welfare Team of the Resident Welfare Division at the county office.”
