Lim Hyeongju Releases 9th Album 'Life on Air' Filled with Radio Sentiments
Title Track 'Somyeolhaneun Bam', Written and Composed by Poet Jeong Hyunwoo
Popera tenor Lim Hyung-joo has released a popera album titled 'Life On Air.'
On the 30th, his agency DGNCOM announced that this album is his 9th full-length and 20th solo album, produced with a 'radio concept' where songs and commentary coexist.
The album concept was inspired by Lim Hyung-joo's experience hosting the daily music program 'Songs I Give to You' on cpbc (Catholic Peace Broadcasting Corporation) FM radio from April 2021 until last month, spanning two and a half years.
DGNCOM introduced that the new album was created to offer Lim Hyung-joo's longtime fans the gentle analog sensibility of radio, and according to Lim's wishes, it was produced as a limited edition with a unique numbering of 999 copies.
Additionally, the agency added that the album carries the stories of fans who have been with Lim Hyung-joo for 25 years since his debut, conveyed through his voice, adding deeper meaning.
The title track is 'Somnyeolhaneun Bam' (Vanishing Night), written and composed by poet Jung Hyun-woo for Lim Hyung-joo. It is an oriental-style popera song following Lim's popera hits 'Hawolga' and 'Yeonin.'
The follow-up title track is 'Gieokhaejwoyo' (Remember Me), which partially adapts the poem 'Remember' by British female poet Christina Rossetti, with music composed by rookie composer Hwang Mi-rae. 'Remember' is a memorial poem conveying the message of someone about to leave the world to those left behind, and the song is a continuation of Lim Hyung-joo's signature piece 'Becoming a Thousand Winds.'
