LabGenomics Introduces Roche Diagnostics Advanced Equipment to Diagnostic Testing Center... Accelerates Digital Transformation
LabGenomics announced on the 30th that it has introduced Roche Diagnostics' advanced equipment, the 'Automated Connection System (CCM),' to its diagnostic testing center. This marks the beginning of the expansion and digital transformation (DX) of the diagnostic center 'LabGenomics Diagnostic Laboratory Clinic.'
LabGenomics' diagnostic testing center recently relocated and expanded, incorporating advanced equipment such as preprocessing devices, testing instruments, and storage equipment. With the introduction of this advanced equipment, the entire process?from specimen transport, classification, testing, to storage?will be fully automated. This will reduce testing time, improve laboratory efficiency, and significantly increase the number of tests that can be performed.
Specifically, immunology and biochemistry equipment, preprocessing devices (cobas P512, cobas P612), and post-processing equipment (AOB, Add-on-Buffer) were introduced. Preprocessing is conducted as specimens automatically move through the automation track to the immunology and biochemistry devices, respectively. The post-processing equipment temporarily stores completed specimens and performs retesting on specimens requiring additional examination.
Subsequently, specimens that have completed the primary test are stored through the post-analysis sorting equipment (PAS). At the same time, secondary sorting is conducted for specimens undergoing testing on equipment not connected to the CCM.
Alongside this, the company is also advancing its digital transformation by adopting Roche Diagnostics' integrated IT solution, 'Cobas Infinity.' This will enable specimen tracking and management, real-time laboratory operation monitoring, and business analytics in the chemistry and immunology laboratories. Utilizing this system, specimens requiring retesting or additional testing will be automatically analyzed by the testing equipment and then stored.
A LabGenomics representative stated, “By adopting Roche Diagnostics' integrated IT automation solution, we have improved our work processes and established a customized automation system unique to LabGenomics. Through the newly introduced advanced equipment, we will shorten the reporting time for test results in key diagnostic areas such as diabetes, infectious diseases, respiratory conditions, hormones, and drugs, while demonstrating high accuracy and efficiency.”
