National Institute of Ecology Endangered Species Restoration Center Designated as Yeongyang-gun Environmental Education Center
Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, has designated the National Institute of Ecology Endangered Species Restoration Center as a regional environmental education center that plays a pivotal role in environmental education.
The Yeongyang-gun Environmental Education Center (Endangered Species Restoration Center) is planned to be designated and operated for three years starting from January 1, 2024. It aims to provide high-quality environmental education to the residents of Yeongyang-gun to actively respond to the climate crisis and collaboratively solve local environmental issues.
The Endangered Species Restoration Center is equipped with over 80 doctoral-level experts who have professional and extensive educational experience, and it also possesses excellent environmental education programs designated by the Ministry of Environment.
Additionally, an education building is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, and the existing facilities and equipment at the Endangered Species Restoration Center will also be utilized for environmental education.
Through this designation as an environmental education center, it is expected that an environmental education system will be established by activating environmental education through program development and dissemination, collaboration with educational organizations, and operation of expert training programs.
