Come See the Magical Girl Created by AI! ... Dongseo University Presents Hologram Performance

Dongseo University attracted attention by showcasing a magical girl hologram performance utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology as one of the achievements of the ‘2023 Content One Campus Project’ supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency on the 28th.

The AI virtual magical girl hologram performance held at 5:30 PM at Dongseo University Centum Campus Sohyang Theater began with congratulatory speeches by Kim Jeong-seon, Executive Vice President of Dongseo University, and Sua, a virtual human from On Mind, via video message.

Following this, the magical girl holograms performed a mixed hologram musical in harmony with live actors, and the performance was streamed on YouTube.

This AI virtual magical girl hologram performance was produced in collaboration with the local public broadcaster KNN and 20 trainees.

During the AI+Content convergence education period in the first and second semesters of this year, the trainees learned and rendered four virtual magical girls using AI and produced songs written and composed by AI.

KNN provided voices for AI training to realize AI-generated voices, while Dongseo University educated the trainees to utilize AI and conducted the project.

Dongseo University plans to continuously develop magical girl content using the developed AI magical girl characters.

Additionally, they plan to create an ‘AI-based Content Production Education Platform’ utilizing the content production technologies developed during the project process, allowing more students and companies to gain experience.

Kim Ki-hong, head of the Dongseo University Content One Campus Project Group, stated, “The magical girl characters and songs sung by the magical girls produced using AI were created based on AI research and convergence education at the ‘AI+X Lab’ of Dongseo University’s SW-centered university project group.”
