Gochang-gun Selected for Agricultural Product Commercialization Infrastructure Project Competition

Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 29th that it has secured a total project budget of 1.804 billion KRW after being selected for next year’s Agricultural Product Commercialization Infrastructure Project competition.

This competitive project was promoted as part of fulfilling the campaign pledge to create a “prosperous rural area where everyone thrives” during the 8th local government administration.

The project supports enhancing the functions of the Agricultural Product Distribution Center (APC) for integrated marketing organizations and the construction of small-scale commercialization facilities.

Through this competition, Gochang-gun will be able to smoothly proceed with the construction of a new cold storage facility within the Gochang Agricultural Product Comprehensive Distribution Center, renovation and new construction of the melon sorting and collection center at Seonunsan Nonghyup, improvement and installation of a peanut processing facility and production line at Daeseong Nonghyup, and expansion of the onion sorting machine at Haeri Nonghyup.

The plan is to complete the projects before the harvest season to commercialize and distribute high-quality chili peppers, melons, peanuts, and onions.

Shim Deok-seop, the head of Gochang-gun, said, “We will do our best to ensure that the four selected projects under the Agricultural Product Commercialization Infrastructure Project proceed without any setbacks so that the county’s agricultural products can be recognized by consumers nationwide and a distribution system that allows fair pricing can be established.”
