The kimchi support fund totals 100 million KRW and will be distributed to 85 social welfare institutions nationwide, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, Busan, Changwon, and Gwangju. Ten percent of the support fund will be used to support meal services for vulnerable groups.
This year, based on feedback from social welfare institutions, the support method was changed from in-kind donations to providing funds to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, considering the scope of beneficiaries and distribution efficiency. Since 2016, HiteJinro has been conducting the kimchi donation campaign annually to help local neighbors have a healthy and warm winter.
