Fly from Goseong to Mongolia! Eagle, fly!

Goseong County in Gyeongnam will hold the "4th Goseong Eagle Ecology Festival" from December 1 to 3 at the Goseong Ecological Experience Center located at 251-3 Giwol-ri, Goseong-eup.

The Eagle Festival is an ecological festival held every year around mid-November to welcome and protect the eagles that fly from Mongolia to Goseong to spend the winter.

Hosted and organized by the Goseong Ecotourism Association, the Eagle Festival, which has been held since 2020 and is now in its fourth year, was finally selected in 2023 as a resident participation festival project.

Before the festival, on December 1, the county will hold an academic symposium at the Goseong Museum under the theme "Birds and Ecotourism."

The symposium will discuss the conservation and management measures of biological resources and the revitalization of ecotourism.

Starting with the opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on December 2, the main festival day, various experience zones related to eagles, eagle releases, and a Mongolian eagle photo exhibition will be prepared as special programs.

In particular, there will be various family-friendly activities such as ▲eagle birdwatching ▲flying eagle paper planes ▲grasshopper long jump ▲making eagle hats ▲decorating eagle light panels (neon signs) ▲creating eagle landscapes, as well as a stamp event where participants can taste eagle bread.

County Governor Sang-geun Lee said, "I hope that through this ecological festival with the eagles visiting Goseong, people will enjoy ecological education and various experiences with their families, creating meaningful memories during the cold winter."

Meanwhile, the county plans to operate an ecological experience program themed around eagles until March next year (every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday ▲once in the morning on weekdays ▲once in the morning and once in the afternoon on holidays).
