Kyobo Securities Wins KRCA Award for Two Consecutive Years in 'Sustainable Management'
Kyobo Securities announced on the 24th that it was selected for an excellent report award at the '2023 Korea Sustainability Conference' hosted by the Korea Standards Association.
The Korea Standards Association has been evaluating domestic companies' sustainability management reports based on global standards annually since 2008 and selecting outstanding reports. Kyobo Securities published its first integrated sustainability management report in July last year. It received excellent evaluations in a total of 10 categories, including stakeholder inclusiveness, sustainability clarity, and reliability, winning the 'First Publication Category' excellent report award that year.
This year, the Korea Standards Association selected 36 excellent reports out of a total of 362 companies from manufacturing, service, finance, and public sectors. In the finance sector, 4 companies including Kyobo Securities were selected out of 32 companies. Kyobo Securities was selected for the KRCA (Korean Readers Choice Awards) excellent report for two consecutive years.
The report was prepared in compliance with the international standard GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) to enhance credibility. In particular, it introduced a 'double materiality assessment' method that evaluates the materiality of social and environmental impacts and financial materiality to derive key issues that companies should prioritize. As a result of the final validity verification, 10 material issues were selected, including ▲customer information and data security ▲consumer rights protection ▲customer satisfaction enhancement ▲digital finance. Kyobo Securities plans to identify risks and opportunities related to these material issues and reflect them when establishing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management promotion tasks.
Additionally, to grow as a sustainable and socially responsible company, Kyobo Securities reported on major business sector activities, achievements, and plans, emphasizing responsibility by including photos of the heads of each business division. Furthermore, to strengthen reporting on human rights management, it included a special page disclosing the human rights charter established in 2022 and the human rights impact assessment conducted in the first quarter of this year.
Lee Seok-gi, CEO of Kyobo Securities, said, "ESG is an essential competitiveness and coexistence for sustainable growth with future generations in finance," adding, "We will continue to share and communicate ESG achievements with stakeholders and leap forward as a leading ESG securities company."
