Support for Artists with Developmental Disabilities "Gaining the Courage to Challenge"
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 24th that 416 mentees, including ten individuals with developmental disabilities, have completed the Creative Talent Companion Program this year. The Creative Talent Companion Program is a content talent development initiative that supports the development of creative capabilities and entry into the industry. Over the past 12 years, platform institutions for each genre such as video/story, games, music, performance, webtoons, and animation have been selected, and one-on-one mentoring between mentors and mentees has been conducted. The commercialization of fifty outstanding projects led by previous graduates was also supported.
On the 23rd and 24th, the Korea Creative Content Agency held a performance presentation event at the Hongneung Content Culture Square in Seoul to commemorate this achievement. Attendees included Cho Hyun-rae, the head of the Korea Creative Content Agency, Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the National Assembly’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, and Yoo Hyun-seok, the deputy director of the agency, who celebrated the new beginnings of the Creative Talent Companion Program graduates. Representative Bae said, "As a standing member of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism committee, I have urged the creation of an incubating system that allows creative talents to continue growing," adding, "I hope the graduates here will become the leading figures of K-content in the global market."
